Blinkx Video Baby Einstein Baby Beethoven Part 1 of 3

Comment from youtube user for this video :

@saritamackitaful Agreed! I am a language teacher in a univesity in Japan; much of my research in grad school was about first languge acquisition and general learning theories. TV, no matter what the content, undoes or slows a lot of the connections that synapses make in the brain if too much time is spent in front of the screen (esp. for toddlers). If kids watch a bit here or there and respond to it (sing along etc) that's fine -but long hours can do real damage. My son gets 20 min. a day max.

@sarahk2181 Also, I'm pretty sure the research that has come out about listening to mozart and beethoven hasn't really shown any improvement in brain development. Developing the SKILL to PLAY the music is another thing. It is the ACTIVE process of learning about and creating music that is so great for brain development.

@sarahk2181 where is this supposed "proof?" In fact, you using that word only attests to your ignorance. Almost never is the word "proof" used with developmental research. And even I don't think that having your child watch this for 5 minutes is going to do any kind of harm. It's the baby "Einstein" false advertising that concerns me. Some people literally sit their kids in front of this for hours thinking it is "educating" them.

@saritamackitaful so did you watch it too much because your language skill are horrendous. or perhaps you didnt watch it enough. it's been proven that the music of mozart and beethoven and more classical music can help brain development even in adults. as long as you limit the time and it is not all the baby/child watches there would be more good than harm.
